26/06: The Gathering: Day 6
Category: International Gathering
Posted by: Ian McLean
Gathering – some seven hundred Macleans from all over the world Gathered at Duart Castle to be welcomed by the Chief, Lady Mary, and the family. The weather held dry and the wind kept off the midges and a splendid day was had by all .
Historical re-enactments from Maclean history were performed, the Mull Junior Gaelic Choir performed, there was a demonstration of highland dancing and of the pipes and drums. There were craft stalls and the Marine Harvest all of whom did great business. A photography of the Gathering was taken and then we all marched to the castle door where we were addressed by the Chief. And then it was back to Tobermory and the Grand Dance – which went on until just after midnight.
